Performance

As Yorktown Heights car shoppers should expect from a Subaru, each of these models come standard with all-wheel drive, which is a boon when winter rolls around, but other than that, these powertrains couldn't be more different.

  • As mentioned above, the WRX focuses on performance, so drivers that want to experience thrills should start here. It comes standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that gives drivers 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque to play with, but they can upgrade to a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 310 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. It also offers sport-tuned suspensions, a performance braking system, and a variable torque distribution system.
  • The Legacy comes standard with a 175-horsepower four-cylinder engine that mixes capability with efficiency, but if you want more of the former, an available 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine packs 256 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque.
  • There is only one engine found in the Impreza, a 152-horsepower four-cylinder, and it's the most efficient of the bunch, but whereas the other models feel at home on pavement, the Impreza's drivetrain is ready for trips off the main road, which makes it a great option for the outdoorsy type.

Features

The available features are where these cars are most similar as each knows just what drivers around Westchester want and need to make their drive easier.

  • Each comes standard with a STARLINK™ Multimedia system with Apple CarPlay™ and Android™ Auto compatibility so that you can use all your favorite apps.
  • Each offers the EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology package, which includes pre-collision braking, lane departure and sway warning, and adaptive cruise control.
  •  Each offers the All-Weather Package that has cold-weather necessities like heated seats and windshield wiper de-icers.

Design and Size

These models are fairly similar in size regarding both exterior and interior measurements, which means Cortlandt Manor passengers should expect comfort in each, but there are some minute differences.

  • The Subaru Legacy is the longest and widest of the three, which shows as it has the most amount of shoulder room, the largest trunk, and the most legroom for the second row, but it is also the heaviest of the three.
  • The Subaru WRX is a performance-focused sedan and is the shortest of the three, which helps with handling, but it has the smallest trunk and least amount of passenger room. However, it does provide the most leg room for the front row.
  • The Subaru Impreza meets somewhere in the middle of the two as it has a larger trunk and cabin than the WRX but is lighter than the Legacy. It is also available as a hatchback with up to 55.3 cubic feet of cargo space if that is more what you need.

That being said, there are some features that each offers that shows which types of drivers may be most interested in the respective models. For instance, the WRX offers performance seats that grip you as you speed along, the Impreza offers steering-responsive fog lights for exploring, and the Legacy offers an electronic parking brake and dual-zone climate control that city commuters will love.
